Through patience and clear step by step instructions, let Jenny guide you through this process to gain the skills needed to create abstract patterns and pictural images with smooth lines and even stitches, building your confidence as you go.

This is a perfect beginner's quilting course or a nice easy project for those who would like an introduction to piecing and 'quilt as you go methods'.
Finished quilt approx. 60" square.
This short course will explore simple cutting and piecing all straight lines and traditional machine quilting skills and 'quilt as you go' methods of joinery.
1st lesson - cutting and piecing
2nd lesson - quilting, with Quilt As You Go (QAYG) joinery demo and sample to take away
3rd lesson - Finishing up Joining and Binding

Binding & Mitred Corners Workshop
3 hour Afternoon Class

Thursday 1:30pm - 4:30pm

This is a skills workshop for quilt binding method by machine with hand sewn finishing.
You will learn: Joining binding strips, mitring quilt corners, end joining your binding for a flat and professional finish, and hidden hem by hand for invisible stitched finish. A shorter hand-sewing demo of ‘fold over’ mitred corners will be included.
Due to space constraints will be working on small samples to repeat the process several times in the class. Please do not expect to work on your big quilts on the day, this is meant to practice and gain the skills to finish off your quilts at home. Placemats are perfect for this workshop if you would like to prepare these ahead. But if you have a quilt that needs binding and would like some advice, please bring it along on the day as show and tell is always welcomed!
