    Scissors, for fabric and for paper  Pencils , Ruler, fabric marking pen

    Pins straight and safety pins    

    Needles new  machine , and hand sewing

    Thread   machine quilting 100% cotton to coordinate, blend  or contrast your with chosen   colours 200mtrs leaves bird, 100mtrs flowers hearts, 200mtrs light back ground quilting + spare colour for basting ( tacking)

    Wadding   90 inch wide Buy  1.75  meters

    Fabrics  100%cotton quilting fabric

    For block background  choose a plain or  lightly printed background for your centre motif to stand out or ‘pop’. 

    White or cream based, or a pale colour Buy 1.25 meter

    Filler Panels  buy .50 meters complimentary colours/small prints or printed fabric

    For sashing & Binding choose small prints or extra of one of your colours Buy .5 metre

    For applique pieces choose 5 or 6 fat  quarters coordinating colours, try to avoid strong directional  or large  geometrical prints.  A mixture of light medium dark, smaller prints  and plain prints. 2 colours for flowers & hearts and 3 col ours for birds and leaves
